MARACATU, AFRO SAMBA & SAMBA DANCE COURSES

Hi there,

Firstly, many thanks to everyone that came along to my event on the 14th May ("Fancy Dancing Some Samba").

Members of this Group who are interested in learning how to dance Samba / Afro Samba with the possibility of performing in events during the Summer, read on....

There are a batch of dance courses available which last for a period of 7 weeks. During this time, the students are trained up to the standard good enough to perform at events. These courses are catered for beginners with no prior knowledge of dancing samba / afro samba. In addtition, during these courses, you will get to burn some serious calories!!!

A set of these courses began last week (8th May) with myself, one person from this Meetup Group plus a couple of others from one of my other Meetup Groups attending the courses. Unfortunately, it is too late for new Members to join this set of courses.

However, just because these current set of courses are closed to new students, there is, however a new batch of dance classes that are due to commence in July for individuals wishing to learn and to have the opportunity of performing as part of a dance troupe in the Summer. These next batch of courses in July will be the final chance for those who originally missed out on these current batch of courses to participate in the events for this year.

I know for a fact that there are two v-e-r-y good major events that these students will be invited to perform in, but I unfortunately, am not allowed to say what these events are [yet].

Students have a choice of learning (i) Maracatu / Afro Samba / Samba Reggae and / or (ii) Samba ne pe (these are all Brasilian dances by the way).

Members of this Group who are interested in joining the next batch of dance courses, please let me know and I shall inform you nearer the time with further details as to prices and location.

Nearer the time, I will (of course) post the events that the students will be dancing in on this Meetup Group's site. I'm sure that the Members attending these courses (both now and the next batch of courses in July), would be pleased to see some fellow Members of the Group coming along to these events for support!
