If nothing makes you happier than dancing your ass off 'til dawn - under the spell of little more than a capable dj - we hope you'll join us for a few laughs and fun times.

Love2Dance is for everyone who values the music as much as the meetup - and who craves the rare place where you can dance without drama at the door or on the floor. We aren't a vip or singles group, and positive people of ALL stripes are welcome.

No unspoken rules or requirements to join - but it's nice to draw folks who never feel too cool to mix outside their demographic. We value friends who understand that the freedom expressed through dance is not always an invite to "personal requests" on or off the floor. Clubs that are 100% pretense-free - with gracious staff and minimal troll action - always top our list.

So, what can you expect? Dance nights that require no partner and welcome all positive souls. Banging house or trance music at clubs that go strong past 2. King King and Deep. Live shows for any band with a beat or a soul 'cos it's all danceable. A few underground nights w/ no expectations. Rare dress codes. Respectful, fun guys (no exceptions) and uplifting vibe.

Many of the dance nights listed will be clearly identified as no-host -- events that your hosts only wish they could attend. These are listed purely for your own enjoyment.

NOTE FOR EVERYONE
This is the one meetup where it is entirely cool if you rsvp yes and then decide to do something else. It's no fun to dance if you're not completely in the mood, so no worries if a more attractive option comes up :) We'll keep the fires burning 'til you join us next time! Also, we may provide a link or instructions for guest lists and discounts, but take no responsibility for any flakes or stoned listmasters who forget to include your name :/ ... Also, NO commercial messages please ... there will never be a fee or background business purpose for this group. Your host is not a promoter. We choose clubs based on the quality of the spin rather than relationships.

NOTE FOR THE GUYS
Love2Dance is a social group where you can let loose, establish trust, make friends, and dance hard with beautiful people of all kinds, straight and gay, single and attached, social and not. When you come out to dance, keep in mind that this group's primary purpose is to create a refuge from the typical Hollywood scene, which seems to be getting more aggressively lowlife with each passing year. Love2Dance exists for everyone who does not see the dance floor as a place to just hit on potential partners, and who values dance time as either sacred or simply fun. In my year organizing this group, I have only had to kick out three men for physical abuse, disrespect, and other bullshit ... but if I get one complaint about your behavior in this or any other meetup, there will be no reason to keep you as a member. Sorry to be such a Dad about the whole thing, but I go out dancing almost every night and see the same Hollywood flies stinking up formerly chill clubs. Be yourself and offer your number if you meet someone you like, your host encourages it ... but at all times, be a gentleman. This is the place where your sister, wife or girlfriend can come relax on her own and just dance without saying a word to anyone if that's her choice. It's a place where I hope you yourself can come out on your own, fail to find the group, and have a blast dancing in the company of friendly strangers. To be approved as members, guys must post a recognizable photo, and an RSVP is required to attend any event. If you like to decide last minute, send me a note and I will give you my cell for future reference. Thank you for respecting the reasons that requirements differ for women members.

FOR THE WOMEN
You do not need to rsvp if you'd like to just come out and dance, and a photo is not required for membership. By now you probably understand Meetup dynamics, where many guys (your host included) are often drawn to nightlife events based on the number of chill women who rsvp. While everyone loves a good party, new friends and new connections, Love2Dance is simply a place to relax as you define it. Please feel free to send a private note to any member when you plan to come out, or just introduce yourself at the meetup. We will usually have a quieter pre-meet location before losing ourselves in the beats!
