This is one truly unique spot that needs to be seen to be believed. Head up the stairs from Bourke Street and step into a long bar furnished with an explosion of cushy velvet, a stuffed ostrich and giraffe! The Carlton Hotel also has a tropical balcony. Set to the front of the bar above Bourke Street it is tropical escape complete with palms in the urban CBD centre.

Once it gets dark, the purple and green roof panels dominate, providing a vintage disco feel. DJs spin funky tunes, while the aforementioned late license means you can dance on until the birds start to sing.
