What else you gonna do on a Sunday night???

Come out and have fun while we listen to the Red Elvises! You will have fun, really.
Tickets are $10.00 and doors open at 8:00 p.m.

Check out the Red Elvises site.

The Red Elvises are a Russian-American band that performs rock & roll, surf, rockabilly, reggae, lounge and traditional Russian styles of music. They were founded in California in the mid 1990s and are based in Santa Monica.
The Red Elvises were founded in 1995 by Igor Yuzov and Oleg Bernov, two Russians living in Los Angeles, California. Igor and Oleg met during a Russian-American peace walk and subsequently played together in a Russian folk-rock band called Limpopo. The band’s third original member, guitarist Zhenya Kolykhanov (he later legally changed his last name to “Rock”), had also emigrated to U.S. and had been spending time playing in Texas. For the first few months Andrey Baranov was the band’s drummer, but within that year, the first American in the band, drummer Avi Sills from Austin, Texas, was added to the lineup. The four of them got their start playing on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade.
- There's also a pre show pizza & brews Meetup at La Grande Orange!

Come on out for dinner, drinks* & diatribe. Sure the election is over, but the economy is in the tank, and it's the holiday season - so there's plenty to vent about. Plus I'll have just crossed another year mark closer to becoming a curmudgeon, so I'm sure I'll have plenty of fuel for the conversation.

Pita J has a Mediterranean themed menu and many vegetarian friendly options.

Come out and celebrate, commiserate, pontificate on what the next four years will bring or toss around ideas of great places to emigrate too...

No, actually we'll be out for a little reprieve from the election night madness. We're doing a joint Meetup with the Downtown Phoenix at the enchanting Lost Leaf Bar & Gallery. They have a great selection of beer and a pretty decent wine selection too - so please come out and join us in a great bar with no televisions just a great atmosphere for fun conversation.

Hope to see you there

Come out for some spicy (or mild) Thai food and some feisty (or just humorous) dialogue at Malee's Thai Bistro at Desert Ridge. I've heard great reviews for this place - so I'm sure the food and the conversation will be stimulating, stunning and divine.
This will (probably) be the last get together before the big election, so come out and express your hopes, your fears and get in your best Palin jokes before she traipses off into obscurity... awwwhhh =-(

or prances into The White House? =^O

Either way I'm sure we're on the cusp of a wild ride.

Hope to see you there!

This will be one week after the stunning, enchanting or at at least a tad bit memorable vice presidential debate. So after letting your opinions, observations and gut feelings ferment a while why don't you just come out and vent?
(i admit, that came across more gross than I had imagined it would sound)
This place has some great beer, decent food and a relaxed atmosphere.
Though it seems like we've taken on a political bent lately, that's not really the case - the conversations are pretty much everything, kind of like a socio-politico-religio-wacko-fashionista-cinematic-musical melange with a feisty sprinkling of cynicism in a rich creamy sarcastic sauté...mmm mmm delicious.

Hope to see you there
paul

PS If the economy has collapsed by then, the location will be changed to either behind the Circle K on Central and Mohave, or beneath the 7th Street bridge in the riverbed ;->

Vampire Weekend Concert

Who? Vampire Weekend

Where? Marquee Theater. Go here.

Check them out here

Vampire Weekend gained attention via a variety of blogs, such as Stereogum. The band is influenced by both African popular music and Western classical music, describing their genre of music as "Upper West Side Soweto," performing such songs as "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa," which references Congolese soukous music.

The members of the band met while attending Columbia University; they then self-produced their first album after graduation while concurrently working full-time jobs. Lead vocalist Ezra Koenig and drummer Chris Tomson first collaborated as members of the comedy-rap band "L'Homme Run."

Come on out, get hopped up on caffeine and rant about something.
